No one is gonna buy our album…

Finally got my laptop back from servicing and it is now super silent like a deadly fart, no more buzzing at all and I’m super pleased with it. You never realize how dependent you are until you have to use someone elses computer. LOL! I think I’m due for a time machine backup soon. Damn overnight backups!

Anyway, Tuesday was quite an eventful day for me, starting out with lunch with the rest of the HOTG people. It was the first time we all got together in a very long time and it was great to see nothing changed between the 4 of us =)

Tuesday was the day of the Straits Times Life! photoshoot for the piece Ping aka. Chaton_ is writing on toy cameras.

Spot the odd ones out @ ThirtySix

A few of us from the lomotion community were interviewed and they were gonna use toy cameras to shoot us too! I think the photog was spoilt for choice at the array of cameras we brought for him to use. He settled for a half broken BBF, Diana F+ SnowCat, LC-A+ with Wide angle option with a Ringflash and Coloursplash flash too. I am a little worried that lots of the pictures won’t turn out and that the photog didnt take digital backups, but hey don’t think just shoot eh? I’ve never seen someone spam so much film, 3 rolls in 1 hour! At least I think Jimmy has some from the digital Harezumi. Anyway it was good fun, but if it was a shoot for a pop group album cover, no one would buy our album. Altho I think one of the members was attracting some attention from the aunties as his demographic =D

Tuesday was also a good day as I got to meet a fellow RF user, Gary aka. Royale With Cheese. The reason it was good is that to be perfectly honest, looking at his B&W pictures on lomotion inspired me to take up the art of Street Photography. Gary is very down to earth and chilled, loves his beer and has a perpetually big ass smile on his face. In the short time talking to him I learnt a bit more about Street, Film, Beer, Cameras (And how all RF users are all doomed because the upgrade path always ends up at that damn red dot) and photography in general. I never had someone to teach me about my camera, film choices but I’m glad I got to meet one of the people who have inspired me to document the human condition, something I have fallen in love with doing.

Gary mate, next time we meet, first round is on me.

After the shoot, L and I finished off the roll in the Fisheye for the lomotion competition. The roll turned out quite badly as we were total fisheye noobs! I swear this is the last time im using Provia 400X too… I’ve found a replacement for EPR 64 in the form of EPL 400.

Yup it was a very eventful day.

BTW

Singapore peeps! Look out for the article in THIS SUNDAY’S Straits Times Weekend LIFE! Section! There will be Jimmy & Cindy from ThirtySix, Gary, Lynn, Myself and a few other interviews with pictures from the shoot and maybe some featured photos! =)

It’s good to have my laptop back!
