One day
One day I will dine in the one of the famous dining rooms of Per Se, Le Bernardin, The French Laundry, El Bulli, Alinea, Arzak, St Johns, The Fat Duck, Mugaritz, Iggy’s (Hooray for local talent) or WD-50; Where I will obediently experience a 5-hour tasting menu at a Chef’s table watching a truly exceptional brigade tell a story, their story, of how food is meant to be cooked, loved and...

Identify yourselves!
deelyn: I have people whom I don’t know following my tumblr, or reblogging my posts and it feels weird not knowing who you are! Hence, as like my title for this post says it, please reblog/ type an answer with your name and if I know you from somewhere (e.g. RP, lomotion etc.) It would be most helpful! Arigato! Lucas aka luc_13 from lomotion. I recall I either added you via fuzk or RWC or...

DRUNKEN MASTER ANALOGUE PHOTOGRAPHY: I got a... →
I got a question from someone today. Why a rangefinder for photography? Yes, no doubt a Rangefinder camera runs on a technology that is 75 years old I believe? Starting with Zeiss Contax & Leitz back then. Well there has to be a reason why a 75 year old technology is still a live today…

What street photography means to me, and why I'll...
Disclaimer: This is my opinion. It is not the be all and end all. You’re probably going to think I’m an elitist bastard after this. Deal with it. Unfollow me, do whatever, maybe go back to shooting macros of your flowers, or bokeh of your bokeh, just don’t for the love of all things analogue call it street photography. Every time I visit the Street Photography gallery in...

Forum purchases fail.
ARRRGH! The Patterson dev tank I bought from a CS-er has like 2 long ass hairline cracks on the sides! I’ve spent ages taping it with vinyl tape and it still leaks a little. Ok maybe leaks is too strong a word. It DRIPS ever so slightly. At least it was only $15 =/ Totally couldn’t see the cracks at all when I was inspecting the goods… I think I should dev 1 roll to see how it...

No one is gonna buy our album...
Finally got my laptop back from servicing and it is now super silent like a deadly fart, no more buzzing at all and I’m super pleased with it. You never realize how dependent you are until you have to use someone elses computer. LOL! I think I’m due for a time machine backup soon. Damn overnight backups! Anyway, Tuesday was quite an eventful day for me, starting out with lunch with...

Happiness come in a small black box
At the end of a long bus ride to DeCameraConsultant in Payar Lebar, essentially raping my EzLink card, I managed to find what seemed to be the only white (I mean IVORY) ACAM 103N in Singapore. Mr Tay was even so kind as to give me a catalogue to further poison me with the bags. I shall remain steadfast! My Safrotto CF700 is my street bag! Until I win the lottery of course. Anyway, here is my...

What is the taste of your childhood?
I heard this question while watching Anthony Bourdain traipse through Spain, eating at some of the finest restaurants in the western world and I had to have a think about it. What taste/smell/food sensation dominated your childhood? For me the answer is simple. It is steamed minced pork in soy sauce, mixed in with steamed rice. This dish is the earliest memory I have of food. Tame as it may be,...

Weapon of choice
Just some of the film from my stash that I use on a daily basis for street. I should really get more Delta 400 and get a roll or 2 of the Delta 3200 as well as PanF+ 50 for walking around wide open in the day. For most of my street stuff, I shoot in B&W, but until I get a dev kit and scanner, I’ll be at the mercy of the Mon/Thurs Triple D cycle. So what’s your weapon of choice?

Has it been a year already? A trip into the past.
I just realized that it was exactly a year today that I touched down in Singapore Changi Airport, carrying 4 years worth of things in my 2 suitcases. It was great to see my parents at the airport at stupid o’clock in the morning, playfully jabbing at each other about how they always get lost in T3. A year has passed since then and boy has it been an eventful one! You think I would stop...
